Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to visit NYC! Join the more than 2.5 million people who line the streets to watch the balloons, floats, falloons and balloonicles, celebrities, bands and clown crews in the most spectacular holiday celebration in the world. The spirit of that small band of 1924 Macy’s employees lives on today with the participation if more than 4000 volunteers on the famous 2 1/2 mile march through Manhattan’s streets.
2010's parade will mark the return of Marvel's Spider-Man. First seen in 1987, the gigantic balloon was retired in 1998. Now Macy's will unveil a new, updated version. "Marvel’s iconic character, which flew for over a decade in the ‘80s and ‘90s was one of the most memorable balloons in Macy’s long Parade history," says Robin Hall, executive producer of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Did you know that the first parade in 1924 was called the "Macy's Christmas Day Parade" although it took place on Thanksgiving Day? Read more facts about the Macy's Parade and see the new Parade Route for 2009
